Student Retention and Emergency Financial Support (The Mark Saunders Scholarship)

The Mark Saunders Scholarship was established to provide timely financial assistance to college students facing unexpected or acute financial challenges that may otherwise interrupt their education. This scholarship is designed for students who are originally from the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area or who are currently attending college within the region.

Unlike traditional merit- or need-based scholarships awarded annually, this program functions as a targeted intervention to support student retention and academic continuity during periods of hardship. A streamlined application process allows students to request assistance quickly when needs arise, helping them remain enrolled and focused on their academic progress. This pillar reflects the Foundation’s commitment to removing financial barriers that threaten educational persistence and long-term success.
