Youth Mentorship and Leadership Development (Alpha Scholars Program)

The Alpha Scholars Mentoring Program engages minority male youth between the ages of 12 and 18 with the goal of building the knowledge, skills, and character necessary for long-term personal, academic, and civic success. Through structured mentorship, guided discussion, and real-world learning modules, the program exposes students to critical life skills and positive role models during a formative stage of development.

Program modules address topics including academic planning and higher education pathways, financial literacy and budgeting, safe driving, etiquette and professional conduct, sexual health and safety, social justice, and civic engagement, including voter education. Lessons are delivered in a modular format and emphasize interactive discussion, critical thinking, and practical application.

The program is strengthened through strategic partnerships with organizations such as The Sober Youth, Inc. / Texas Knight Organization and through sponsorships including the Carrollton Colts youth team. These collaborations expand the program’s reach and impact while reinforcing a community-based approach to youth development.
